Smithy Cottage is ideally located to explore the five Angus Glens to the east or the Breadalbane mountains to the North and West.
Located close to the A9, the North of Scotland is also easily accessible. The East coast towns of St Andrews, Dundee and Arbroath are just a stones throw away along with the beautiful beach of St Cyrus. Pitlochry with it's Festival Theatre and Edradour Distillery, the smallest distillery in Scotland, are 20 minutes north up the A9, with Blair Atholl and The House of Bruar just a little further north. Glen Shee and Braemar can easily be reached from Blairgowrie, an ideal spot for winter pursuits. There are also 8 golf courses within a 30 mile radius.
Closer to home there is the lovely market town of Blairgowrie (3 miles) to the east and Historic Dunkeld (8 miles) to the west. There are wonderful networks of footpaths giving easy access to the open countryside and hills surrounding Smithy Cottage. An ideal base for a lazy relaxed week exploring local lochs and wildlife, with Ospreys at the Loch of the Lowes just up the road, Red Squirrels and if you're lucky Beavers.
